Project Overview
Advanced Eco Blast Ltd was appointed to undertake specialist façade cleaning works at Bestway Wholesale Ltd, as part of the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the property's external appearance.
Over time, atmospheric pollution, biological growth, surface staining, and general environmental contaminants had accumulated on the building's exterior surfaces, adversely affecting the appearance of the façade. The objective of the project was to restore the building's clean and professional appearance while using a cleaning method that would effectively remove contaminants without causing damage to the underlying surfaces.
To access elevated sections of the building safely and efficiently, a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) / cherry picker was utilised throughout the project. The cleaning works were carried out using the DOFF Steam Cleaning System, which employs high-temperature, low-pressure steam to gently remove dirt, algae, organic matter, and other surface contaminants whilst preserving the integrity of the façade.
The project was completed with minimal disruption to the client's operations, enhancing the overall appearance of the property and restoring the façade to a clean and well-maintained condition.
Scope of Works
- External Façade Cleaning: Cleaning of external façade surfaces using the DOFF Steam Cleaning System to remove atmospheric pollution, surface staining, algae, and accumulated environmental contaminants, including delicate architectural features and difficult-to-access areas to achieve a consistent finish across the elevation.
- Access Solutions: Provision and operation of a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) to safely access high-level areas of the building, alongside the implementation of exclusion zones and safety controls to protect site personnel, visitors, and the public.
- Environmental Considerations: Use of the DOFF steam cleaning process requiring minimal water consumption and eliminating the need for harsh chemical cleaning agents, with controlled operations designed to minimise environmental impact.
Outcome
The façade cleaning works were successfully completed, restoring the external appearance of the building and significantly improving its overall presentation. The DOFF Steam Cleaning System effectively removed years of accumulated dirt, staining, and biological growth without causing damage to the building fabric.
Through the use of specialist access equipment and carefully controlled cleaning methods, the project was delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to the client's day-to-day operations, resulting in a cleaner and more welcoming appearance for this prominent commercial property.
